creative art contests for children.

Conservation Department |

Special Projects seeks to sustain our natural resources while
recognizing the needs of the present. It also
promotes the recognition of special environmental
observances, such as Earth
Day.

Beautification Program focuses on participation in community based
beautification projects and in tree-planting
projects.

Resource Conservation
Program promotes the Kids
in Kindness Program, teaches members to
become caretakers of the world's resources and
focuses on litter prevention projects.

Learning Disabilities
Program seeks to educate members and
the public on learning disabilities, focusing
on early detection and intervention.

Literacy Program, sponsored by a grant from Proctor and
Gamble, continues the youth literacy/ASPIRE
programs, and educates members about literacy
issues and becoming involved in reading programs
for children.

Home Life Department |

Health Program supports and promotes all issues concerning
women's health. Osteoporosis, cancer, heart
disease and diabetes are some of the major targets
of the program.

Women's Financial
Information Program works to increase
the level of understanding about the world of
finance and educate members on retirement planning.
The Women's Financial Information Program Kit,
available to clubs, is supported by Allstate
Financial.

International Affairs |

Special Projects supports the Heifer
Project International in distributing income
producing animals to poor farmers around the
world. World hunger issues are promoted, cultural
exchange programs are supported.

United Nations Program works with UNICEF programs an educates members on the work of
the United Nations. It also focuses on maternal
and neonatal tetanus and has developed a program
to generate funds for tetanus inoculations.

Public Affairs |

Special Projects implements programs
which teach women of today, their children and grandchildren,
how to reach their political potential. Focus is
also placed on support of the Veterans
Administration, Women
in Military Service for America and preservation
of historic sites related to women's suffrage.

Crime Prevention Program increases
the awareness of clubwomen and the public to issues
concerning violence against women and children.

Safety Program includes all aspects
of personal safety for adults and children including
home safety, fire safety and vehicle safety.
